I am Alana your hydrotherapist at Woods Hydrotherapy. 

I have had a passion for helping animals, especially dogs since my teenage years. My first job was at an animal rescue and boarding centre where I gained invaluable skills in how to handle a wide variety of breeds and temperaments of dogs. 

After competing my A levels, I studied at Hadlow college for 3 years to gain a 1st Hons degree in Animal Management with the University of Greenwich. Like many others I did not know what career path this would take me down. 

After some work experience at a canine hydrotherapy centre I knew this would be the career for me. The perfect combination of practical handling, being involved with both dog and owner and scientific based practice with maximum job satisfaction. 

I qualified in 2015 with a level 3 qualification in small animal hydrotherapy and 2 years later gained my advanced underwater treadmill qualification with merit.

I then began full time employment working in a succesful canine hydrotherapy centre and in 2026 opened my own centre. 

As part of my role I actively take part in continued professional development throughout the year to keep updated with changes in the industry.
